When you have A TON of notebook, with just a few usable pages in each, you can combine all blank pages to make a brand new notebook! It's a great way to reduce money spent on new supplies, upcycle and make your entire backback full of good-for-the-world goodies.
Post it's & Pens = to list down how many unused pages are left in your notebook if your teacher require a specific page number.
Recycled Paper = To Cover the Cover (optional, for decorative purposes)
1. After counting the pages and pairing the notebooks, I cut both ends of the wires with a wire cutter and started rotating the spiral wire out. Recycle the spiral (if you don't have another craft project for it, both the plastic and wire spirals are recyclable).
2. Keep the covers! We will be using them for the cover! Recycle all content that you will no longer need of the used notebook pages.
** Note: I believe it is up to you when you will design your cover if you will be designing it.For the back and front cover, if you would like to decorate it, now is a great time to do water marbling. If you plan to cover it or use glue, all sticky projects should be done before combining it with the clean pages. If you plan to do some simple doodling, wait until the end and let's get sewing!
3. Pile together all of the clean, unused pages and keep the pages together using a fold back paper clip. Select your covers and place on each side of the clean pages. Secure the bunch with a binder clip after lining up all the empty spiral holes.
4. If the holes do not line up (they most likely will) Time to punch holes! Adding one to the top or bottom will most likely make the rest of the holes line up.
For rebinding the notebook, there are SO MANY CHOICES of book binding. My personal favorite is the Japanese book binding style (I like the way it looks and it was super easy to learn) by using the holes that are already in the notebook to thread through.
