World Autism Awareness Day is an internationally recognised day on the 2nd of April every year, encouraging Member States of the United Nations to take measures to raise awareness and education efforts about Autism and the lives of people with autism throughout the world.
Join us in April 2017 for National Autism Awareness Month in promoting autism education, autism acceptance and in drawing attention to the tens of thousands facing an autism diagnosis each year. Let’s embrace a new perspective – ensuring acceptance and inclusion in schools and communities that results in greater education and true appreciation of the unique aspects of autism. We want to get one step closer to a society where those with ASDs are truly valued in a community knowledgeable to the needs and sensitivities of Autism.
At ChunkaBuns, we want to support the families who live their daily lives with the needs of autism. We are aware that Autism is no walk in the park and comes with a unique set of challenges where the festivities that often surround Autism Awareness Month are rarely friendly to an autistic person. We made our autism shirts in all sizes, to advocate on behalf of the autistic community. Because autism needs more than awareness and acceptance - we need advocates committed to standing up for the education, safety, employment opportunities, and the critical help required to survive Autism.
For those of you who are caregivers, we want to show our support to you too, with solemn acknowledgement and education about Autism in the hopes of making our society an easier place to travel and live, no matter what difficulties may face you and your loved ones.
As always, ChunkaBuns will cater to specific sizing needs. All you have to do is ask! Also, if you have an organization that you would like us to get involved with (or make specialty clothing for) we would be more than happy to offer our skills.
